Sharukh Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi, India,  is an Indian film actor & producer, television presenter.
Also knows as "Badshah of Bollywood" or "King Khan".

Biography:

SRK was born and brought up in Delhi. His parents died before he entered movies. Shahrukh considers it a big regret that they couldn't see what their son was to become.

He is graduated from Hansraj College, Delhi University and followed it up with a Masters Degree in Mass Communications (Film making) from Jamiya Milia Islamiya University, in New Delhi. After a year Shahrukh opted out as he had to make his acting career in Bollywood. He had captained all teams in football, cricket and hockey and even played cricket at Zone and National level.

He started off his career from Television industry which got him to fame. His serials like Fauji (1988), Circus (1989) made roars in the television industry.
He got his claim to fame right from his debut film Deewana (1992). During his years in the Indian film industry, he has won eight Film Fare Best actor awards and has had significant box office success. Some of his films includes: Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993), Anjaam (1994), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Om Shanti om (2007), Chak De India (2007), Rab Ne Bana De Jodi, My Name Is Khan (2010) among others.

He turned producer when he set up a production company called Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza in 1999. The first two films that he produced under his production company was Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000) and Asoka in ( 2001) which was a failure at the box office. His third film as a producer was Chalte Chalte(2003) did well at the box office.

In 2003 Shah Rukh set his another production company called Red Chillies Entertainment and produced Main Hoon Na (2003) under this banner which was a superhit.
Paheli (2005) and Kaal (2004) was also produced by him but it didn't work at the box office. Om Shanti om (2007) was the biggest blockbuster delivered by his production house. Billu (2009) also did a fair collection at the box office. His latest flick Always Kabhi Kabhi (2001) proved to be a disaster at the box office. Then he was produced Ra.One and Don 2 which are emerged as super-hit on box office.
In 2013, he produced Chennai Express which broke several box-office records and was a huge success, becoming the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time in India and worldwide.

Has a mannequin of himself in Madam Tussaud's Museum in England.
In 2008, Red Chillies Entertainment became the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the BCCI-backed IPL cricket competition and  they became the IPL champions for the first time in 2012.


Personal Life:


He fell in love with a Delhi girl Gauri Chibba and later got married to her on 25 October 1991. Being a Muslim man married to a Hindu woman, he and his wife combine both religious backgrounds into their children's education.

He is got two kids a son called Aryan Khan and a daughter named Suhana Khan. In 2013, SRK & Gauri became parents of a third child named AbRam via a surrogate mother. SRK's older sister Shehnaz also lives with them.
Gauri Khan used to host a weekly Hindi music countdown show, Oye, for a music channel in the 1990s. She is the face of the fashion line, Aftershock. She appeared on the January 2008 cover of the Indian edition of Vogue.
Gauri is part-owner and part-producer of the production company, Red Chillies Entertainment along with Shah Rukh khan.

International recognitions:


    1. 2003 – A rare species of orchid, Ascend Shahrukh Khan, was named after him in Singapore.
    2. 2004 – Time magazine selected him as one of 20 "Asian Heroes" under the age of 40 and was featured on the magazine's cover.
    3. 2004 – British Asian Guild Award for Best Actor of the Decade
    4. 2005 – He was featured on the cover of the Asian edition of the National Geographic magazine twice, February's issue .
    5. 2007 – He was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of the Arts and Literature) by the French government for his “exceptional career”.
    6. 2007 – His lifelike wax statue was installed in London's Madame Tussauds wax museum. Additional versions were installed at Madame Tussauds museums in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and New York in 2010.
    7. 2007 – Another lifelike wax statue was displayed in Grévin museum in Paris, along with that of Gandhi, the only other Indian to receive a similar honor.
    8. 2008 – He was conferred the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka, which carries the honorific Datuk, by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob, head of state of Malacca in Malaysia, for "promoting tourism in Malacca" by filming One 2 Ka 4 there in 2001.
    9. 2008 – Newsweek named him one of the 50 most powerful people in the world, ranking him at number 41. He was the only artist and the only movie-star in the list. Newsweek subtitled his article as "The king of Bollywood is opening minds in some closed-off cultures" and noted, "Who is the world's biggest movie star? Brad? Will? Nah. His name is Shahrukh Khan, and he's the king of Bollywood."
    10. 2009 – He was invited to present the motion picture Slumdog Millionaire at the 66th Golden Globe Awards. No Indian actor had previously been invited to present at the Golden Globe Awards.
    11. 2009 – Great Britain's University of Bedfordshire awarded him an honorary doctorate in arts and culture.
    12. 2009 – He was given a Black Belt Honorary in taekwondo by the South Korean government.
    13. 2009 – He was declared amongst the 500 most influential Muslims worldwide by Georgetown University.
    14. 2010 – Was invited by NASDAQ, the world's biggest stock exchange, to ring their opening bell in New York, along with Kajol, for the promotion of My Name Is Khan, thus become the first Indian actors to open the market, an honour usually reserved for CEOs of major corporations.
    15. 2010 – He was recognized as an icon of religious unity by experts from around the world at a conference at Vienna University.
    16. 2010 – He became the first Indian actor to be given the rare honour of signing the guest book at Berlin's Town Hall.
    17. 2010 – Entertainment Weekly states in their Most Powerful List that Khan is the "megastar" of Bollywood.
    18. 2011 – He became the first Bollywood actor to be featured on the cover page of Los Angeles Times Calendar section. Shahrukh's films My Name Is Khan and the recently released film Ra.One have been noticed and appreciated by the American media outlet.
    19. 2011 – He was honored with the Unesco Pyramide con Marni award for his charity engagements and social commitment towards providing education for kids. Shah Rukh is the first Indian to win this accolade.
    20. 2011 – He was honored with L’Etoile d’Or by Mohammed VI of Morocco the King of Morocco during Eleventh International Film Festival of Marrakech. Shah Rukh is the first Indian to receive the honor.
    21. 2012 – Khan became the first Bollywood personality to be honoured with the prestigious Chubb fellowship at Yale University.
    22. 2012 – He was honoured with the prestigious BrandLaureate Legendary Award for his unmatched contribution to the Indian Cinema and also for being India's foremost brand ambassador in Malaysia.
    23. 2012 – He was conferred with one of Morocco's highest honours (a rare state honour, Wissame Al Kafaa Al Fikria (award of intellectual merit)) while attending the 12th International Film Festival of Marrakech by Prince Moulay Rachid.
    24. 2013 - Appointed as goodwill ambassador by the government of South Korea.
